In the January issue of Gordano Living, Paul Kingston, a director of Cliftons estate agents, told us how, despite the fact he had not ridden a bike for 20 years, he was planning a charity cycle from Bristol to Paris to raise money for Bristol hospitals.

He has been sharing his expertise in buying and selling houses with Gordano Living readers. This month however, and for the next couple of issues we will be following Paul on a more personal journey, as he helps raise money for Bristol hospitals.

Paul is expecting his new Planet X bike to arrive any day now, but his training is already underway. The father-of-two said: “I have signed up for training with Fox Cycling and the staff there have been great. They have given me a training schedule to get my general fitness and stamina up before I hit the road on my new bike. I started with the beginners classes but have already moved up to the intermediate classes. Although I know I’m pushing myself I can really feel the difference from when I first started. I’m now feeling confident and am ready to get out on the roads and hills of North Somerset.
